The whole trip is usually covered on a single ticket. The baggage is checked only once during the check-in procedure and then received back upon arrival in Australia. Therefore, we spend the entire flight with just one carry-on baggage.
Due to the increasing popularity of Australia as a tourist destination, it is recommended to arrange your trip and book your flights well in advance. In this way, you can avoid an unpleasant surprise of missing a place or paying a small fortune for an airfare during the busy season. There are two high seasons in Australia:
Additionally, the number of flights increases around Easter and in October, especially for flights which stop over in Hongkong, where international trade fairs are held. The remainder of the year is a low season and the tickets are available at standard prices.
When thinking about your trip to Australia, you should start booking your air ticket already a few months ahead of the expected departure date. This increases your chances of getting a good deal. In each class there is a wide variety of rates. Check out our website for our special deals. If you would like to receive an individual offer, please contact one of our offices.
The prices of one way or return tickets to Australia vary depending on the airline, the time of the planned trip and how much in advance we are willing to purchase them. Apart from the price of the ticket, we should always take into account: the airport service and the fuel charges as well as the fee for issuing a ticket, which is charged by all travel agencies.
Remember, the ticket price offered by Bridge Agency is always the final cost and it includes all of the charges and taxes. There are no hidden costs, charged at a later stage.
Roughly speaking, you can estimate the cost of your airfare from Europe to Australia as follows:
Return tickets are usually valid for one year. The passenger is obliged to return within 12 months from the date of the initial departure. The unused ticket is no longer valid.
Please notice that some carriers offer special, lower rates for passengers under the age of 29 (so called youth fares) in which case the prices may be as shown below.Additional discounts apply for the ages:
The rates for such passengers are usually a few hundred euro lower. In case of children up to 2 years of age, it is possible to lower the price even more when just one seat onboard is being used and the parent holds the child on his/her lap. However, taking into consideration the duration of the trip and the comfort of the family such solution should be carefully thought through.
If you book your flight ticket with us, you can rest assured you can always change the details of your trip - the date of departure or arrival, the place of departure or the destination, or the flight route before the ticket is paid for and issued. Changes at this stage are free of charge.
Rebooking the ticket once it has been issued can be tricky and it is subject to availability. This time round, any change to your ready-made reservation will be done at an additional fee, which covers the cost of issuing a new ticket. Return flights can be rebooked within the period of the ticket’s validity (one year). One way flights should be rebooked 4-5 days prior to your departure date at the latest. Please note that the required notice period may vary depending on your airline.
Ticket cancellation and reimbursement. If you need to cancel your flight due to personal or other reasons beyond your control, you should notify our office as soon as possible. Once it is done, we will contact the airlines directly and request a cancellation of your ticket. Similarly to the change of your booking, cancellation and reimbursement requires special notice. Usually, it is no less than 72-24 hours prior to the planned departure. When you cancel your trip, you might be eligible to a partial reimbursement of costs. The amount depends on the rules and conditions of the airlines.
Every airline has their own restrictions on the amount and weight of baggage per passenger. These restrictions apply to both checked in baggage (weight limits) as well as carry-on items (weight and length + width + height limits). When you buy a ticket, you should confirm with the carrier what limits apply on your particular route. In this way you will avoid unpleasant surprises such as the necessity to pay fees for extra weight or leaving some of your items behind. Make sure you check your weight limits early enough so that you can pack properly.
The following restrictions apply for flights between Europe and Australia (economy class) - according to Cathay Pacific regulations:
| Baggage allowance | ||
| Type of baggage | Weight | Dimensions /height/width/length |
| Carry-on baggage | 7 kg | 36 cm / 23 cm / 56 cm |
| Checked baggage | 20 kg | - |
