SAE Institute   Ranking

SAE Institute was established in 1976 as the world's first practical audio engineering school to address a growing demand for skilled audio engineers. The mission of our first campus was to provide aspiring audio engineers with the best practical and hands-on education possible, a creed we have upheld to this day. Whilst audio engineering remains a very important part of SAE's objective, times have changed and SAE has now expanded its curriculums to include other creative media studies.

SAE has since grown to become a successful global network of campuses offering programs in audio engineering, digital film making, multimedia and animation, all of which are delivered using SAE's proven teaching method that combines sound theoretical knowledge with invaluable hands-on training.

Sydney was home to SAE Institute's first campus and over the years the city has grown to become a prominent and influential hub for the global entertainment and media industries. From the spectacular Sydney Harbour in the heart of the CBD, to the iconic beaches that line the eastern suburbs, the sophisticated city has something to offer everyone. Studying at SAE Sydney will certainly place you right amidst the action and give you plenty of opportunity to experience all that the Australian and international media industry has to offer.

The history of SAE began in Sydney in October 1976, when the first ever SAE campus was established by engineer/producer Tom Misner, who in doing so developed the world's first combined practical and theoretical curriculum in audio engineering. Our unique education system remains the only one of its kind in the world and has since expanded to offer programs in other curriculums such as film making, multimedia and other creative medias. Our first courses began humbly in our own 4-track recording studio however, over the past three decades, SAE has developed into a world-wide network of campuses, boasting some of the most advanced equipment and facilities available to students studying in the creative media industries.
